Happy Pet, India’s first pet technology company, has raised strategic investment from Dr. Devi Shetty, Founder and Chairman of Narayana Health, along with his family. The investment signals strong confidence in Happy Pet’s vision to modernize India’s fragmented pet care ecosystem using technology, data, and design-led solutions.
In an exclusive conversation, Sagar Badakere, Founder of Edu Pet, speaks with Anil Reddy, Founder of Happy Pet, following the company’s recent strategic investment from Dr. Devi Shetty and his family. The conversation explores the journey behind the fundraise, the vision driving Happy Pet forward, and how technology is shaping the future of India’s pet care ecosystem.
Congratulations, Anil. This is your second time raising funds from Dr. Devi Shetty. How does this moment feel?
Anil: Honestly, it feels less like an investment and more like a blessing. Having someone like Dr. Devi Shetty believe in us gives our entire team a huge morale boost and validates the journey we’ve been on.
When someone of his experience and credibility backs your vision, it pushes you to think bigger and execute faster. For us, this is not just about funding, it’s about trust. It gives us the confidence to build long-term solutions that can truly transform the pet care industry in India and globally. It also motivates our team to keep raising the bar in terms of innovation and execution.
Dr. Shetty comes from the healthcare space. What kind of advice has he shared, and how does it translate to pet care?
Anil: For me, it’s never been about the domain. Great leadership and strong systems work everywhere. I’ve always admired Dr. Devi Shetty because of how he thinks about design, technology, and scaling impact. Earlier in my career, I had the opportunity to work with him on digital technology initiatives for Narayana Health, and those projects were successfully implemented across the organization.
What I learned from that experience is the importance of building technology that truly solves real problems at scale. The healthcare world taught me that empathy, efficiency, and design-led systems can coexist, and that mindset translates perfectly into pet care. At Happy Pet, we are applying similar principles to create accessible and reliable solutions for pet parents and businesses.

“Technology has the power to raise care standards when applied with empathy and purpose,”
– Dr. Devi Shetty, Founder and Chairman of Narayana Health
India’s pet care ecosystem is still fragmented. How is Happy Pet using technology to bridge that gap?
Anil: Yes, it is true that the Indian pet care ecosystem is fragmented. Pet parents often struggle with discovering trusted services, while businesses operate without efficient digital tools or standardized systems. We saw an opportunity to build technology that brings structure and transparency to this space.
At Happy Pet, we’re creating a unified platform that connects pet parents with reliable services while helping businesses streamline operations and scale more effectively. Our focus is on building trust, simplifying discovery, and improving the overall experience on both sides of the ecosystem.
Ultimately, we’re not just solving one problem. We’re building digital infrastructure that can support the future growth of the entire pet care industry.
What is the long-term vision for Happy Pet?
Anil: We have some really exciting things lined up, and we’re focused on building solutions that make pet care more accessible and affordable. This includes working towards India’s most affordable pet insurance, AI chat bot, and expanding our SaaS offerings globally. We’re also investing heavily in improving how pet parents discover and connect with trusted services.
Beyond features, our vision is to create a tech-first ecosystem that improves the overall quality of pet care. We want to set new standards for how businesses operate and how pet parents experience services. The next phase of our journey includes major launches and announcements, so this is just the beginning.

“Happy Pet brings clarity, trust, and better decision-making for both pet parents and businesses. We’re building the future infrastructure for pet care.”
Anil Reddy, Founder Happy Pet
What achievement are you most proud of so far?
Anil: I’m most proud of the fact that we’ve built products that are genuinely ahead of industry standards. From day one, we focused deeply on design, usability, and scalability, and that approach has helped us stay ahead of the competition and create something truly meaningful.
Another big achievement is the trust we’ve earned from both businesses and pet parents. Pet parents write to us every day thanking us for the app and share how it has made caring for their pets easier. Especially when they travel and don’t have their pet’s vet book with them. Having records accessible digitally, along with features like co-parenting that keep the whole family aligned, has made a real difference. We also take their feedback seriously and actively implement suggestions to keep improving the experience.
On the business side, we’ve seen our SaaS platform significantly improve day-to-day operations for pet businesses. From streamlining workflows to helping teams run more efficiently, it’s rewarding to see how the platform supports businesses in delivering better care while scaling sustainably.
What’s next for Happy Pet?
Anil: As Happy Pet enters its next phase of growth, our focus is on creating practical, technology-led solutions that improve everyday experiences for both pet parents and pet business owners. This next phase marks a stronger push into global markets. We already have clients from Europe, the Middle East, Nigeria, and Southeast Asia, and are now focused on strengthening our global footprint even further.
The pet care industry is evolving quickly, and we believe strong digital infrastructure will shape its future. For us, growth is about building sustainably while staying closely aligned with the needs of the community we serve.
What does the future of pet tech in India look like?
Anil: Pet care in India is changing fast. More people today see their pets as family, which means expectations around care, convenience, and reliability are much higher than before. Technology has a huge role to play in making pet care easier and more seamless for pet parents.

If you look at how everyday life has evolved, the shift is clear. There was a time when people carried cash everywhere. Today, digital payments and UPI are the norm, and even the smallest shops accept them. We used to walk to local stores for groceries, but now everything is ordered from our phones in minutes. Yet, when it comes to our pets, critical records are still often stored in physical books.
That gap highlights where the future is headed. Over the next few years, the industry will become more organized and connected, moving away from scattered services toward trusted, technology-driven platforms. The future of pet parenting is tech, where records, services, and care are integrated, reliable, and easy to access. Our aim is to help build that future and make pet care simpler and more dependable for everyone.
Final message for pet parents and pet business owners?
Anil: We’re building Happy Pet for the long term, with a clear intention to make pet care simpler, smarter, and more reliable for everyone involved. Every product decision we make is driven by real feedback from pet parents and businesses who trust us.
We truly believe the future of pet care will be powered by technology and thoughtful design. This investment is only the beginning, and there’s a lot more coming soon. To everyone who has supported us, thank you for being part of this journey.
